unpaid rent

Hi everybody!

I'm actually living in London, i'm 24 years old and i'm french.
i'm tenant of a flat which i need to leave as soon as possible as i found a better job in germany but the problem is that my contract with that flat ends next juneand my landlord doesnt want to  let me go  earlier...
what happen if i dont pay the last rents and move abroad? can they sue me to get back the money?

If you have a contract with your landlord ultimately you are liable to pay it. If you don't your landlord can try to recover the money by taking out a UK count court judgement against you. However in relality if you simply leave and dissappear it will be highly unlikely that your landlord will pursue you for the money overseas. Given that, one suggestion is you tell your landlord that you are leaving and will simply "disappear" if an amicable agreement cannot be reached. I would be surprised if he did not agree to something as I am sure he would be able to re-let the flat.
