« on: Oct 12, 2011, 06:09:12 PM »
Hi can you help please,i had a 24 month contract with vodaphone which ended but money was still being taken from my account each month.I got in touch with my bank to cancel the direct debit to vodaphone, who then wrote a letter to me saying i owed them money as i had to give notice to cancel my contract. They are saying it was a rolling contract,i now owe them £104.55 which i refused to pay.Now i am being chased by fpc debt collection services, any advice would be greatly appreciated.Joe

Hi Joe
I do not know much about these rolling mobile phone contracts. I think there has been some stuff in the news recently about them and that they are to be outlawed as unfair but I am unsure whether this has happened yet or not. When you wanted to cancel the contract why did you not speak to Vodaphone and cancel directly? If you feel you have been funfairly charged I think the best thing to do is to fine a complaint with the financial ombudsman.
