Hi All,

I currently in debt management with chase saunders but they went bust. I was thinking of starting my own firm that does debt management for £25 a month management fee. I dont want to charge 3 months payment. just a straight £25 to start. can anyone advise on weather this is a good idea.

The first point I would make valiant101 is that to start a Debt Management Company you will first need a consumer credit license from the DTI. In order to get one of these you will need to show that you have the required experience and knowledge to run a debt management company and you are fit to do so.
If you do not have the relevant experience I recommend that you go and work for a debt management company or insolvency practitioner to gain this first. The application will cost £1000 which is not refundable if your license is not granted.
