Marlin Capital
« on: Oct 21, 2013, 09:02:18 PM »
Hi, been in a DMP  with payplan for circa 3 yrs 5 months now paying £440 / month.  Not missed a beat on the payments and was advised by them that due to endowments etc an IVA would not be suitable.
Have received a letter today saying my NRAM debt has been sold to Marlin capital.  Can I start to expect all the hassle to start again as it nearlt tipped me over the edge last time?
thanks

Hi Lildendebt

If you have been in a DMP for a while it is quite normal for one or more of your creditors to either pass the responsibility for collecting your debt to a debt collector or as has happened in your case sell their debt on to a debt purchaser such as the likes of Merlin or Lowell. All you need to do is pass the details on to PayPlan and they will contact Merlin for you. It is possible that in the mean time Merlin might contact you demanding payment but this is simply them following their internal process. PayPlan should be able to sort this out for you without much hassle.
