it was fine untill the end of the job when customer said moneys getting bit tight
then we fell out
somethings on the job had gone wrong but i put right to building control

then payments had stopped so i come off the job
when the customer rang i said i would come back as soon as the materials (steels were paid £3000}
then i noticed another builder had taken job over

Hi there
I am afraid that I cannot comment on the legal position as to whether you are liable for this debt or not. I think that is one for a solicitor. On the face of it I would assume that the perosn whos name is on the order for the steels is liable to pay the bill. However I am not a solicitor and am unable to give any direct legal advice. For this I suggest that you go and speak to your local CAB.
