I was made bankrupt in May last year after a failed IVA due to ill health, the OR had a list of all the creditors from my original IVA supervisors. However, I'm now receiving demands for payment of a debt which was originally owed to Lloyds TSB from 1st Credit who claim to have bought the debt (I do hope they did and that it them cost a fortune). They also had the cheek to suggest I send them £10:00 so that I could see what they had on their computer records about me.
As I figured they were "chancers" trying it on I wrote back to the say that I did not owe Lloyds TSB any money nor did I owe any to them and for a fee of £35:00 (administration) I'd be happy to send them proof that I did not owe them any money. Not surprisingly they didn't send me £35:00, just a letter threatening court action if I don't pay in full in 7 days. I've just added £10:00 to my admin fee and told them to "bring it on, I also printed "recipient will pay the postage" on the envelope.
After years of being chased by debt collectors it's great to give a little back, particularly to these "chancers"
